A red stag is a mature male red deer (Cervus elaphus), the fourth-largest deer species in the world, surpassed only by moose, elk, and sambar deer. Red Stag can be hunted from late August through January.
We hunt Stag safari style, spot and stalk and occasionally by calling them during the roar in September/October.
Stag are big animals. Minimum calibers of 6.5 CM or .308 Win will be sufficient. Larger calibers are recommended.
